SALMAN KHAN BACK TO SHOOT FIRST BOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER IN SRI LANKA
According to reports shooting for the film titled “Ready” will take place at locations in Colombo and Bentota and the artistes taking part will stay in the island on a 40-day schedule.
Speaking to Newsfirst the Managing Director of the Tourism Promotion Bureau Dilip Madadeniya said that many famous Indian actors and actresses including Salman Khan are scheduled to arrive in the country in the next few days.

Is Salman The Man...
...to replace Big B as the IIFA ambassador? He was everywhere doing everything this year
Salman Khan is famous for not avoiding touchy issues and is known to call a spade a spade. He may have upset the Tamil Film Producers’ Council by attending the recently held IIFA, but that is not going to stop him from stating what he thinks. His comment, “Everyone belonging to the film industry should have attended IIFA. They should have come together to extend their help to the Sri Lankans” is, however, said to have angered quite a few folks in Bollywood. But, irrespective of who is angry with him, there is no denying that this IIFA was ALL about Salman. He ensured that nobody missed the Bachchans! He was literally everywhere – on the ramp, winning awards, planting trees, meeting kids, having coffee with Jacqueline, ignoring Vivek Oberoi and so on…We Says:
Salman should definitely replace Big B as IIFA ambassador. After all, anyone can support an event during good times but to stand by it when everyone else is running scared – now that is true ambassadorial qualities if you ask us. Go Salman!

Salman-Asin starrer Ready to be shot in Sri Lanka
Even before the hangover of a spectacular Videocon IIFA Weekend 2010 subsides, it seems like the host country, Sri Lanka, has already begun reaping the benefits of playing host to IIFA's magnificent 11th edition. Recognizing the gorgeousness of the island nation, and the welcoming warmth received by the Indian Film Fraternity during another magical IIFA weekend, Anees Bazmee's new film Ready, produced by T-Series and starring Salman Khan and Asin in lead roles, will now be filmed in Sri Lanka, beginning 20th June, 2010. The movie's location for shooting was originally scheduled to be Mauritius, but after enjoying a beautiful locale like Colombo during the Videocon IIFA Weekend, there was much enthusiasm to change the location to Sri LankaIt may be recalled that in the absence of the Bachchan parivar and Shah Rukh Khan at the recently held IIFA weekend in Colombo, it was none other than Salman Khan who was the main attraction at this extravaganza. The actor, who played a key role in the IIFA Hands for Humanity Project, as the Brand Ambassador for Charity, thoroughly appreciated the kindness and generosity of the Sri Lankans and claims to be thrilled about returning to the neighbouring island.
Sri Lanka is undoubtedly excited to welcome the whole cast of Ready. It seems like the exuberant aura of Sri Lanka, that received global recognition at the Videocon IIFA Weekend will prove to be a big plus for this host country in the days to come.

Salman Khan To Film In Sri Lanka
Indian actor Salman Khan will be shooting a movie in Sri Lanka, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said.
The actor who arrived in Sri Lanka for the International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) has cancelled the shooting of his new movie in India titled Mursi and will begin shooting a movie in Sri Lanka next month.
Khan, who is the brand ambassador of the IIFA Charity Initiative, is active in supporting those who have been affected and displaced by the war in Sri Lanka.
Abeywardena also added that Khan had discussed this venture with the government and has been given the green light for his activities.

Bipasha Basu befriends Salman Khan!
All happened in Colombo, Sri Lanka
Things can take a fresh start anytime; it just depends on your attitude how to go about it. IIFA Awards 2010 was a perfect venue for the actress Bipasha Basu to mend fences. Not only did she become friendly with Kareena Kapoor, she initiated a talk with Salman Khan too, thereby ending the chill of many years.
At a party thrown by him during IIFA, Salman was enjoying with his Bollywood friends. To everyone’s surprise, Bipasha walked in the party, and later went up to Salman and thanked him for the party and the wonderful time she had there. That simple gesture mellowed Salman down. So the next day when she attended the party again, Salman was ‘warm’ towards her.
Bipasha doesn’t deny the news but refuses to call it a ‘patch-up’ because, according to her, she never had any issues with Salman, even though everyone in the industry knows that Salman’s cold war with John Abraham affected his equation with Bips too.
But all’s well that ends well.

IIFA 2010: Behind the scenes
Aamir Khan's '3 Idiots' swept the 11th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards that concluded with much fanfare in Colombo early on June 6 but the three-day event will perhaps be remembered more for the absence of Bollywood mega stars led by IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan, apparently due to a boycott threatened by southern Indian film distributors of the stars who attended the event.
There was nothing official about the absence of the Bachchans, including Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, as also Shah Rukh Khan, who had previously announced he would be at Colombo, but it was quite clear that Bollywood was taking the boycott threat seriously.
It's not that the southern Indian distributors are opposed per se to the event going out of India - it has previously been held in cities like Macau, Bangkok and Amsterdam - but they were specifically opposed to Colombo as the venue because of what they perceived to be the excesses by the Sri Lanka armed forces in the final push against the Tamil Tiger rebels last year.
Still, the event weathered the storm, as was evident at the ritzy grand finale, the highpoint of which was Hrithik Roshan's mindblowing livewire performance when he not only danced but wowed the audience by singing as well.
The other highlight was the compering by Lara Dutta along with Boman Irani-Riteish Deshmukh who once again enthralled the audience with their excellent chemistry on an extravagant set.
But then, there were the low points too - for instance, Bipasha Basu's performance on the awards night and the humid weather.
And, the threatened boycott by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce meant the glamour quotient on the final light was much lower than in the past, with it being left to the likes of Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Bipasha Basu to fly the Bollywood flag.
Nevertheless, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa was ecstatic about hosting the awards ceremony in his country.
"Thank you IIFA for choosing my country as the venue for this extravagant event. It will help us in bridging the gap between the two nations in a simple manner," Rajapaksa said.
The grand finale apart, there was much more to the three-day event
On the first day, the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza saw the participation of many Bollywood actors and Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, who walked the ramp for leading Indian and Sri Lankan designers. This was backed by a live musical performance by composers Salim-Suleiman and singers Kailash Kher and Anushka Manchanda.
A charity cricket match was organised the next day between the Sangakkara XI, boasting of some Sri Lankan greats and two teams comprising Bollywood stars and led respectively by Suniel Shetty and Hrithik Roshan. The former but naturally knocked out the Bollywood heroes.
The sixth edition of the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum, also on Friday, focused on various strategies to explore and boost business opportunities between India and Sri Lanka. The theme this year was "India - Sri Lanka Partnership: The Way forward", with some key speakers being President Rajapaksa and former Indian junior foreign minister Shashi Tharoor.
The first look of movies like 'Dabaang', 'Lamhaa' and 'Knockout' were also showcased at the event, as was a sneak peek into the multi-million project Kingdom of Dreams - a mega entertainment destination slated to open in Gurgaon ahead of the Commonwealth Games in October.

WATCH: Salman most wanted at IIFA
Salman Khan acted as the IIFA's strongest ambassador this year. He built homes, walked the ramp and electrified the stage with a staggering performance at the awards, but Salman seems to think otherwise.
