Massive publicity for Sri Lanka through IIFA, Sri Lankan Minister points out

Sri Lanka Minister of Economic Development Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said today that Sri Lanka would achieve massive publicity when IIFA 2010 telecasts internationally.

Addressing a post-IIFA review press briefing, the Minister said that IIFA will be telecast on July 04 in 110 television channels worldwide. The programme will be viewed by 600 million people, the Minister pointed out.

Publicity slogans of Sri Lanka will be aired regularly throughout the programme, Minister Abeywardena said.

The promotion gained by Sri Lanka through this programme cannot be achieved without a massive expense, the Minister explained.

The Minister blamed the opposition for sharing the happiness of the pro-Tamil Tiger lobby as several Bollywood stars did not participate in the IIFA due to pressure.
