IIFA 2010 host Sri Lanka hopes to see a spurt in Indian tourists after the event

IIFA 2010 host Sri Lanka will be looking to convert the hosting opportunity into a tourism showcase, and hope to attract a larger numbers of Indians following the event.

“We aim to target 50 percent growth in Indian tourist arrivals after the event,” the Xinhua news agency quoted Laxman Yapa Abeywardene, the deputy minister of Economic Development as saying.

The two neighbours are also expected to embark on new business collaborations at the event.

Over a hundred big names from Bollywood are expected to be attending the ceremony apart from 2000 other Indians.

Being a Sri lankan I am proud my country was selected for the 11th IIFA awards ceremony. This will surely give our little island the required exposure and also hope the Indian fraternity will select locations, which are in plenty here, for their forthcoming films.
